Bowling, arcade games, and a full sports bar packed into one Sunset Park destination.

About Us

On 37th Street in Sunset Park, Melody Lanes has been Brooklyn's go-to spot when people want to do more than just watch sports on a screen. You lace up rental shoes, grab a lane, and suddenly two hours have vanished. With over 2,100 Google reviews averaging 4.1 stars, this place earns its reputation the old-fashioned way: by keeping people coming back.

The building pulls triple duty as a bowling alley, a video arcade, and a sports bar, so there is genuinely something for every person who walks through the door. Birthday groups, date nights, office outings, and solo regulars who just want a cold drink and a few frames all find their rhythm here. The bar pours while the pins fall, and the arcade machines glow between rounds.

Sunset Park is one of Brooklyn's most underrated neighborhoods, and Melody Lanes fits right into its no-pretense, good-time energy. This is not a place trying to be something it is not. It is loud, it is fun, and on a Friday night, every lane is full.

What We Offer

Bowling lanes are the main event, open to walk-ins and reservations throughout the week. Shoe rentals are available at the front desk, and the staff can set up bumpers for younger kids who want in on the action.

Beyond the lanes, the video arcade keeps the energy going between games, with a solid lineup of machines that appeal to both kids and the adults who pretend they are just watching. The sports bar runs alongside everything else, serving drinks and bar food so you never have to leave the building to recharge.

For groups, Melody Lanes handles private events and party bookings, making it a practical choice for birthdays, team outings, and corporate events that need a venue with built-in entertainment. Call ahead or check the website to lock in lanes before the weekend rush.

"Not my first time coming here and no matter what I usually have a good time. Not sure if it’s just this time but every time someone would roll a bowling ball, it would keep rolling to the side.. I believed the lanes weren’t oiled. Therefore it wasn’t that fun since most of the time our bowling ball would just roll to the side, hitting no pins. Also, almost every time it was someone else’s turn and the pins would reset it would always never happen aka we would always have to ask the staff to fix it and it happened for almost every turn which was really annoying. Other than that we still tried to make the most of it despite of it. There was a mini arcade too."

"Shocked by all the good reviews this place is a rip off. First of all, they are insanely expensive for average lanes. For two people on a Saturday night for ONE HOUR of bowling and shoes cost $82! Insane - $41 per person. We waited about 30 minutes at 930 PM. The lanes have no friction and the ball slides all over the place, which doesn't make it fun when your ball is constantly sliding to the side or in the gutter. Decent ball selection and good music playing. The food bar is fairly priced, but not very good. Staff weren't very friendly, everyone just seemed so rough around the edges. The place was pretty dirty, carpet looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in years. They had cardboard boxes at the entrance to help soak up the rain... Charging 2 people $82 for an hour of bowling, you should be able to buy a doormat lol. They had a pretty decent arcade area but I would not return. So many better, cheaper options."

"I went today with a wheelchair users and they didn't have the metal bowling ramps but these plastic kid bowling ramps which for my friend wasn't a very comfortable experience using them. I would like to know when the metal bowling ramps will be purchased for use or are these kid like plastic ramps the only ramps your place will be using from now on? I've attached the type of ramp that was used"

"There was only one staff member and he was extremely rude. I have not been there in over 10 years so I was looking forward to it. I came in and it was the most unwelcome hello I got and when I started to ask questions about the price he started to ask if I was part of the spectrum and if I need a counselor. I was beyond outrage and my friend and I were beyond disgusted with his attitude. I don’t recommend anyone to come here please use your money elsewhere if u want to bowl."

"Terrible experience at this bowling alley. I arrived around 11 PM — well before closing time — and even though their Google hours say open until 12 AM, they had already shut down. The excuse? “No one showed up for the last 3 hours.” That’s not how business works. If your posted hours of operation say you're open, then stay open. This is false information, and it led to a completely wasted trip. Even worse, the employee at the front — Charlie — was incredibly rude and unprofessional. No apology, no explanation, just attitude. If this is the kind of customer service they think is okay, that’s a real problem. People rely on accurate information and respectful service. If you're looking for a reliable bowling alley that respects your time and treats customers right, sadly, this isn’t it. Very disappointing."
